2005 Jeff Gordon Napa Valley Merlot$42.00 750ml Deep scarlet in color, the 2005 Merlot is luscious and velvety exhibiting black cherries and red licorice on the nose. Dried cranberry, earth, and cedar tones intertwine on the palate, the wine is rounded off with hints of dark chocolate and finishes with a strong backbone of acidity. The wine is currently showing well after several hours of decanting and should improve over the next 3 to 5 years.  |
